Under the direction of Genea Kelley, Sunday School Superintendent, our young people were treated to a Gospel Theater on Saturday, July 31st. The movie shown was " Joseph the Dreamer", and following the movie, the children attended several stations with fun activities that helped them to understand the movie's message. After all the activities were completed, hot dogs, chips, and juice were served. The kids had a great time!

On Tuesday, July 13th our newly formed youth group had their kickoff. Youth ministry director, Mark Boldridge, started the meeting with an explanation of the group: the purpose, the format, and the goals. Hot dogs, juice, and chips were served. This group is for elementary - high school aged youth. The next meeting will be July 27th at 7:00 p.m.

 

On Saturday, June 26th our men's fellowship group held a barbecue on the church parking lot. All men in the community were invited to attend.

Our C.W.F. held a Father and Son Brunch on Saturday, June 19th to honor the fathers of our church. The speaker for this event was Rev. Anthony Divers from Topeka, Kansas.

 

Accomplishments

Congratulations to all our young people who are moving up to a new level in education. From elementary school to middle school, from middle school to high school, and from high school to college. We are very proud of you!

Congratulations to Gabrielle Ross and Shaina Burton for graduating from high school and moving on to college. Gabby will attend Highland Community College and Shaina will be attending the University of Kansas.

 

Congratulations to Trace Fitzhugh and all of our youth who made the Honor Roll this Year!	Congratulations to Cory Watson who will soon earned her BA in Accounting from Benedictine.

 

The Atchison High School Marching Redmen have been chosen as the official band representing the state of Kansas in the 2010 National Independence Day Parade in Washington DC. Two of our youth, Gabrielle Ross and Aaron Elliott, will be apart of this special event.
